Mousavi is working on a charter for freedom. I wonder if he is looking at the good old Declaration of Independence, 233 years old and going strong.
This could be a powerful development for freedom in Iran. It also reminds me of Charter 77 in Czechoslovakia before the fall of communism.
“We are drafting a charter that transcends political groups and fronts,” Mousavi said in a meeting with Iranian journalists. “It seeks to present a unified face of the people joined in the Green Movement and enable them to strengthen their unity.”
Building unity and organizing many groups into one movement is good. A charter will be a good teaching tool to effect this unity.
